TriBeCa, Glasgow

Tree nuts, Peanuts

Were allergens indicated on a menu?
No

How helpful and knowledgable were the staff?
Unhelpful

Quality of food: ***

How would you rate the restaurant overall?: **

I recently went for brunch at TriBeCa with my friend and girlfriend. I ordered what I wanted and made staff aware that I had a nut allergy. The server then asks how bad it is, this always makes me feel uncomfortable. She then continues to tell me that she will make the chefs aware. I am not feeling the most comfortable at this point, when the waitress then comes back and tells me that the muffins in my order are rolled in sesame seeds. I say this is okay and I am only allergic to nuts to which I am asked if I am sure sesame seeds are okay, this happens multiple times, making me slightly uncomfortable. This shows a clear lack of understanding and or training of what allergens are. I then watch staff stand and talk about me while looking through an allergen menu before another member of staff comes to my table and says ‘so who is it that has a sesame allergy’. I was not comfortable at all during this dining experience and staff seemed unaware of different common allergens. My friend even turned to me at one point and said ‘that’s not overly reassuring is it?’ To which I had to agree. Food was ok but not great and the tables were extremely sticky.
